Biomedical Hardware Engineer

Design and prototype affordable medical and wearable devices — from sensor selection to manufacturable enclosures.

EngineeringToronto, Canada · HybridFull-timeGlobal

We're looking for a hands-on hardware engineer who can take a biomedical device from sketch to working prototype. You'll select sensors, design circuits and enclosures, and obsess over cost, reliability, and real-world usability.

This is a builder's role at an early-stage company — your decisions will shape how our devices are made and maintained in the field.

What you'll do

  • Design and bench-test sensor-based biomedical hardware
  • Select components balancing performance, cost, and availability
  • Build functional prototypes for usability and clinical testing
  • Design for manufacturability, maintenance, and field repair
  • Collaborate with firmware, ML, and design-research teammates

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years in electronics / hardware engineering
  • Experience with sensors, PCB design, and rapid prototyping
  • Familiarity with biomedical signals (ECG, EMG, IMU) a plus
  • A frugal-innovation mindset: practical, affordable, robust
